    Under the dynamic leadership of Shri. K.B. Awade (Founder Chairman) of DKTE Society, Management of DKTE Society started Padmabhushan Dr. Vasantraodada Patil Pvt. ITI at Sou, Indumati Kallappanna Awade Shaikshanik Sankul, R.S. No. 644, Near Adinath Housing Society, Sangli Road, Ichalkaranji with Four Trades Electrician, Fitter, Draughtsman Mechanical & Welder with 20 intakes each, in the academic Year 2019-2020.     In spite of the process of phenomenal growth of the textile industry which was taking place at Ichalkaranji during last 25 years there was no educational institute up to 1980 which could cater a industry’s need of technically trained man power. The local industry was facing handicapped due to the dearth of technically qualified personnel. Different co-op. organizations from Ichalkaranji therefore came together under the leadership of Mr. K.B. Awade (Ex. M.P.) to educational society in 1981 with a view to start institutes and colleges to cater to education in the field of Textiles. Engineering. Management, Polytechnics, ITI, Junior colleges, International School, High schools  and others so as to provide education facilities in various fields to students of this rural area of western region of the Maharashtra State and also to support the growth of Industry by providing technically qualified professionals. The education society thus formed was named after Late Shri. Dattajirav Kadam an ardent social worker and veteran co-operator of this town. In this endeavor, Ichalkaranji Municipality and a number of generous and philanthropic citizens extended their wholehearted support.

    DKTE Society started ITI at DKTE’s Padmabhushan Dr. Vasantraodada Patil Pvt. ITI, Sahkara Nagar, Sangli Road Ichalkaranji with 4 trades Electrician, Fitter, Draughtsman Mechanical & Welder in the academic year 2019-20. The total student strength of the institute is around 140 and has 13 teaching and non-teaching faculty members. This ITI is approved by Directorate General of Training (DGT), New Delhi. & Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET), Maharashtra State & affiliated to National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), Government of India.

    The management has provided excellent infrastructural facilities and highly qualified staff. As a result of this, a very high standard of education is maintained. Apart from regular teaching, this institute is well known for its interaction with the industry. In this field, it is not only known in India but also has achieved recognition at the International level. The D.K.T.E. society has also extended facilities in other areas of education by starting Primary Schools, High schools, Junior college, Physical Education College and institute of Vocational Education, Management College, Commerce college, CBSE Curriculum school. Mr. K.B. Awade is the Chairman of this society, Shri. P.K. Awade is the Vice-Chairman, and Mrs. S.U. Awade is the Hon. Secretary.

  Our Society also started diploma courses & ITI courses named as DKTE’s Yashwantrao Chavan Polytechnic & Padmabhushan Dr. Vasantraodada Patil Pvt. ITI respectively at Sahkara Nagar, Sangli Road Ichalkaranji with 5 branches of diploma and 4 trades of ITI.

  At present, one of the biggest challenges facing the government is to provide unemployed youth with simple employment; while on the other hand, the need for skilled manpower is increasing day by day in different sectors of the national and international economy. Apart from this, national priority has been given to the activities of Make in India, Digital India, Swachh Bharat, Smart Cities, MPs, Adarsh ​​Rural Planning, Prime Minister’s Jan Dhan Yojana etc. therefor large number of jobs being created in various sectors. Apart from this, various types of employment and self-employment opportunities are available to the beneficiaries of various categories through various departments of the government and the corporations under their authority. Therefore, this DKTE Society’s Padmabhushan Dr. Vasantraodada Patil Pvt. Industrial Training Institute, Ichalkaranji has been started in the academic year 2019-20 with a view to building skilled manpower.
  As a Principal, I will do my best to maintain the training standards, discipline and other essentials and at the same time, introduce new ideas and programs. The world around us is changing but that does not mean we have to abandon old values that have helped create the wonderful environment that is established at DKTE’s ITI.
